About Lindsey
Lindsey Ensor is a Certified Organizational Ombuds, mediator, coach, and facilitator with extensive experience supporting conflict management in academic healthcare and higher education.
During more than seven years at the University of California, Davis, Lindsey worked with hundreds of healthcare professionals, faculty members, staff, students, leaders, and teams. Her work included supporting members of the UC Davis Health community as they navigated workplace concerns, communication challenges, strained professional relationships, team dynamics, and organizational change.
This experience gives Lindsey a strong understanding of the pressures that can shape conflict in healthcare environments, including demanding workloads, interdisciplinary relationships, leadership structures, competing responsibilities, and the need for clear communication in high-stakes settings.
Lindsey helps visitors clarify their concerns, consider available options, prepare for difficult conversations, and identify practical next steps that reflect their goals and circumstances.
Approach
Lindsey combines careful listening, skillful communication, and trust-building to create a supportive setting for thoughtful problem-solving. She helps people examine a situation from multiple perspectives, consider available choices, and determine which next steps best fit their goals.
Her approach recognizes that sustainable conflict resolution is rarely limited to addressing a single disagreement. She works with individuals and groups to improve communication, understand the dynamics influencing a concern, and build the capacity to navigate future challenges more effectively.
Lindsey brings the same practical, relationship-centered approach to her work as an ombuds, coach, team-building facilitator, and leadership development facilitator.
Healthcare Ombuds Experience
Lindsey has supported professionals working within complex academic healthcare systems, where clinical, administrative, educational, and research responsibilities often intersect. She understands how hierarchy, professional roles, time pressures, organizational change, and interdisciplinary relationships can influence workplace communication and conflict.
As an organizational ombuds, Lindsey provides an informal and impartial space where healthcare professionals can discuss concerns, explore options, and think through difficult situations. Her work can support concerns involving communication, team dynamics, supervisory relationships, professional expectations, organizational processes, and workplace change.
Lindsey brings sensitivity to the realities of healthcare workplaces while helping visitors identify constructive approaches that support respectful relationships, effective collaboration, and sustainable problem-solving.
Mediation and Facilitation
Lindsey's mediation practice spans peer dynamics, team conflicts, and concerns arising between direct reports and organizational leaders. She designs processes that help participants communicate productively, understand differing perspectives, and work toward constructive, sustainable solutions.
As a community mediator and dialogue facilitator, she has guided conversations involving sensitive issues, strained relationships, and high-stakes decisions. Her facilitation supports candid participation while helping groups maintain clarity, respect, and forward momentum.
Training and Leadership Development
Lindsey has designed and led practical, interactive workshops that help participants build skills they can apply immediately in the workplace. Her programs have addressed navigating difficult conversations, de-escalating high-stakes situations, giving effective feedback, and building conflict-competent teams.
She also coaches leaders as they manage team dynamics, respond to conflict, and work toward strategic goals with less friction. Lindsey holds a master's degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution and has completed specialized training in mediation and facilitation.
