Brent Epperson, MPA, PhD, is an Organizational Ombuds with MWI and a practicing ombuds since 2016, in North America and Europe.
He is passionate about good governance, healthy workplace cultures, and helping organizations create more effective conflict management systems.
Brent has ombuds experience in higher education, financial services, and healthcare, bringing a cross-sector perspective to his work with individuals, teams, and organizations.

Background
Brent is an Assistant Professor of Conflict Studies at Saint Paul University in Ottawa, Ontario, where he teaches and publishes in the areas of ombuds practice, mediation, good governance, issue framing, and DEIB-focused policy development.
His scholarship and practice focus particularly on governance in health and higher education sectors and on expanding ombuds practice as a tool for healthier organizational systems.
Brent completed his Master of Public Administration at the University of Montana, his PhD at the University of Alberta, and his postdoctoral work at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique in France.
He is a Board Member of the European Network of Ombuds in Higher Education, an Associate Member of the Association of Canadian College and University Ombuds, and a Member of the International Ombuds Association.
