MWI Mediation Mentorship Programs

Mediation skills continue to develop through practice, feedback, reflection, and experience. MWI offers several mentorship options for trained mediators who want to build confidence, strengthen specific skills, prepare for future cases, or continue growing alongside experienced mediators and colleagues.

Choose the Mentorship Experience That Fits Your Goals

MWI offers individual, flexible monthly, and group-based opportunities. Program design, scheduling, and live case opportunities depend on participant goals, mentor availability, and case volume.

Structured Development

Customized Mentorship Program

A structured program for one or two mediators that may combine goal-setting, coached role plays, observation of an experienced mediator, co-mediation, detailed feedback, and reflection on next steps.

Sample Two-Participant Program

Two participants move through a similar progression together, with opportunities to co-mediate, observe one another, and participate in separate live mediation experiences.

Sample seven-session program: $1,475 per participant

Flexible Support

Monthly Court Mediation Mentorship

A flexible month-to-month program that allows mediators to select the type and level of support that best matches their current practice, schedule, and professional development goals.

Debrief and Consultation

Up to 45 minutes for reflection, case preparation, ethical questions, difficult dynamics, intervention choices, and mediator growth.

$200 per session

Observation

Approximately two hours observing an experienced mentor mediate, followed by a discussion of interventions, process choices, and lessons from the case.

$300 per session

Co-Mediation

Approximately two hours participating in a live mediation alongside an experienced mentor, including preparation, support, and a post-session debrief.

$300 per session

Sample Monthly Pathways

  • Foundational Growth: One debrief and one observation, $500
  • Active Practice: Two debriefs and one observation or co-mediation, $700
  • Intensive Development: Two debriefs and two observations or co-mediations, $1,000
Role-Play Cohort

MWI Mediation Practice Lab

A six-session, mentor-led cohort program that gives mediators a supportive environment in which to practice, experiment with techniques, receive feedback, and learn alongside colleagues.

  • Four to six mediators per cohort
  • A new mediation scenario during each session
  • Opportunities to serve as mediator, party, and observer
  • Structured mentor-led feedback and reflection

Each participant has opportunities to practice different roles while observing the approaches used by fellow mediators. After each role play, the mentor facilitates a structured discussion focused on effective choices, alternative approaches, and techniques participants can apply in future mediations.

Registration includes six sessions, mentor coaching, role-play materials, and program resources.

$300 per participant for the complete six-session program

Aaron A. Arzu is a creative problem solver and trusted adviser with deep experience guiding clients through the complexities of modern business and regulation. As a business owner himself, he understands the challenges his clients face and helps them minimize liability, maintain compliance, and achieve their goals. His practice includes conducting internal investigations, negotiating with government agencies, defending clients in state and federal courts, and advising on administrative law and corporate governance.

In addition to his legal practice, Aaron is an experienced facilitative mediator, qualified under Massachusetts law (M.G.L. c. 233, §23C). He has mediated cases across multiple Massachusetts courts and facilitated disputes for private companies, nonprofits, and housing organizations. He also trains mediation professionals and is pursuing certification as a SIMI-accredited mediator in international commercial disputes through the Singapore International Mediation Centre.

Before co-founding The Arzu Law Group LLC, Aaron was a senior litigation associate at Duane Morris LLP and began his career as an assistant district attorney in Brooklyn, New York. A graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and Harvard University (cum laude), he is admitted to practice in New York, Massachusetts, and federal courts. Beyond the law, he is a Cordon Bleu-trained chef and former Resident Chef at Sur La Table in Boston, as well as founder of Creative Culinary Innovations, a private chef and consulting business.

Alnoor Maherali

Alnoor Maherali is a highly skilled diplomat, dispute resolution specialist, ombuds, and certified mediator. He resides in New York City and mediates for MWI, Venn Mediation, the New York Peace Institute (NYPI) and New York Small Claims Court. He also serves as a mediation coach for NYPI and MWI and as a mediation and negotiation trainer for MWI. His professional accomplishments include the negotiation of resolutions at the United Nations in Geneva and New York, sharing of best practices in disaster response and civil-military coordination with the Government of Brazil, and important roles in the resolution of two high-profile kidnapping cases in Afghanistan. He has a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Mathematics from Queen’s University in Canada and a Master’s in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School in the US.

Clarice Parsons

Title:    Mediation Program Manager


Clarice Parsons, J.D., is a mediator and Mediation Program Manager at MWI. She oversees the Alternative Dispute Resolution Programs for MWI’s corporate clients including General Motors, BMW of North America, and 7-Eleven. Clarice also supports MWI’s panel of 100+ volunteer neutrals who facilitate pre-trial mediations in 14 of Greater Boston’s District and Municipal Courts. As a neutral, Clarice mediates small claims, eviction, and civil cases for Massachusetts Trial Courts. She also supports MWI’s training and mentor programs.

Before joining MWI, Clarice worked for several years as a paralegal and law firm manager. She earned a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Legal Studies and Political Science from Suffolk University and a Juris Doctorate from New England School of Law.

Dispute Resolution Experience

Victoria Bennet is a mediator, trainer, facilitator and consultant, providing services throughout New England since 2003. She has mediated a wide range of court-referred, government agency and private disputes, including commercial, employment, contract, tort, foreclosure, family, divorce, juvenile, community and criminal cases. Vicky has extensive experience training people from diverse backgrounds in conflict resolution skills, including custom workshop design and one-on-one executive coaching. As a consultant, she advises business owners and executive teams on partnership and board issues and managing workplace conflict.
