Vik Kapoor has over 15 years of experience as a mediator, attorney, facilitator, trainer, coach, and ombuds practitioner for places like the United Nations, FEMA, and the US Department of the Interior. He is a certified coach (ICF-PCC) and built coaching programs in over 40 countries. A lawyer by background, Vik began his career litigating employment class actions and then taught dispute resolution before focusing his work on mediation and organizational conflict management for the Department of Homeland Security. Vik has advanced training in applied positive psychology, trauma recovery, and return on investment, which he leverages in service of his clients. He currently is a consultant Ombuds with the United Nations and is working on his second book. His first book on self-coaching for young leaders (First Serve Yourself) was an Amazon #1 bestseller and won a national book award. Vik also previously sat on the IOA CO-OP® Board’s Professional Practices Committee, which investigates allegations of misconduct within the ombuds profession.
