MWI BMC & DISTRICT COURT MEDIATION PROGRAM
TO:
Interested MWI Mediation Panel Applicants
FROM: Josh Hoch, Director of Mediation Services
Thank you for your interest in mediating with Mediation Works Incorporated.
MWI's BMC & District Court Mediation Program provides volunteer opportunities to
mediators who have successfully completed MWI's basic and/or advanced training
programs.
MWI works hard to maintain a high
standing and excellent professional reputation in the mediation community.
Interested applicants should review and complete the requirements
outlined below.
1.
Fill out and submit the application form below.
2.
Attend a “New Mediator Orientation Session”.
Please email me at jhoch@mwi.org
or 617-973-9739 x23 for information and to RSVP.
3.
Adhere to MWI's BMC & District
Court Guidelines
Once your application is
received, prospective panel members contact me to schedule and observe two mediations at
court and co-mediate two times with an experienced MWI mediator.
Following the observations and co-mediations, prospective panel members will
take part in a final interview with me to confirm eligibility and a
commitment to MWI's BMC & District Court Mediation Panel Guidelines. Once
accepted to MWI's panel following the final interview,
mediators are required to commit to mediate a minimum of twice a month for a
period of one year.
Mediators
are asked to mediate a minimum of 10 cases before they participate in MWI's Advanced
Trainings.
Mediators are also
required to attend a minimum of one “MWI Round-Table” session each year.
MWI Roundtables are open discussion forums where MWI mediators meet
for on-going training, discuss best practices and share lessons learned with
mediation colleagues.
If you have any
questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me
at 617-973-9739 x23 or send an email to <jhoch@mwi.org>. Thank you.
